Happy kinky New Year: Best Bondage Erotica 2014 is out now, and more sexy reading

photo.JPG
I'm so vain I started the new year with a new book selfie (actually more excited about this gorgeous kinky book)

What a way to start the new year: Best Bondage Erotica 2014, the 4th in my annual series for Cleis Press, just came out and I'm so thrilled with how beautiful the cover is and how hot the stories are. I'm also reading submissions for Best Bondage Erotica 2015 (deadline is March 1st, so get writing!). This one is especially exciting because I'm publishing many of these esteemed authors for the first time, including ones like Annabel Joseph, who already have readers clamoring for their next sexy book. Here's what reviewers are saying:

The Frisky Fairy has excerpts from "Roping the Cowboy" by Teresa Noelle Roberts, "Tart Cherry" by Kathleen Delaney-Adams and "The Neckcloth" by Annabel Joseph, and wrote:
There are not enough words in the English language to tell you how much I loved this book. I was able to find new and exciting stories that turned me on, and that is a rarity. The language and content were able to thrill me on multiple levels, and I really feel that this book has enough content for everyone that it would be hard to be disappointed. I was incredibly impressed with the diversity across the pages, as I feel there is not enough diversity in erotica and many erotic anthologies. There was diversity in body types, relationship types, gender roles, sex, gender, and gender presentation. The bondage itself ranged from beginner to advanced, but the stories still displayed the same feeling of intimacy in all the various types of relationships.
We Love Kink gave it 5 love taps and wrote in part:
I did not realize just how many ways there were to tie some up up. There were your basic ropes in Rope Dance a circus themed story, a funky use for a necktie in Neckcloth, some interesting usage of paper clips in Clipped, a leather chastity belt in Belted In, some very very different ways to use a simple shoelace in Pegged, ribbons in Wearing Purple and also the invisible usage of bondage in Mind Fuck.

There were plenty of toys, dildos in all shapes and sizes, spanking brushes, whips, floggers, birches, handcuffs, ropes and an innovative device that Anna is strapped down on from her arms to her legs. I loved the way that so many toys were talked about. It was new, fresh and completely different story after story. Sure there were similar themes, bondage being it, of course but the way it was achieved was always very different. In Mind Fuck, Cari has a muscle disease so she could only pretend to be tied down. And let me tell you Quinton did a great job of talking her through it. He was hot stuff.

Sex toy erotica with a twist: "Under Direction" by Teresa Noelle Roberts

I love erotica featuring sex toys and I love plot twists, and both are prominently featured in "Under Direction" by Teresa Noelle Roberts in Serving Him: Sexy Stories of Submission. Here's your latest excerpt. If you like it, please like Serving Him on Amazon! Previous excerpts: "Chattel" by Errica Liekos, "The Coffee Break" by Kristina Wright, "What You Deserve" by Lori Selke and "Subbing" by me.

From "Under Direction" by Teresa Noelle Roberts

The package was hefty for its size, and oddly shaped, wrapped in sleek, dark-red paper neatly enough that I suspected Luke hadn’t done it himself. “I brought you a present,” Luke said. “Actually it’s more I bought myself a present for you to use.”

The wording, and the fact it wasn’t near my birthday or any holiday, made me suspect a sex toy, or lingerie, or some other bit of erotically charged fun. I made quick work of that pretty wrapping.

But this toy wasn’t anything I expected.

“A Feeldoe?” I raised one eyebrow at the alarmingly turquoise contraption: two conjoined faux-cocks, one end to insert into me and the other, obviously, for someone else to enjoy. Turquoise is my favorite color, and it certainly looked like it would be fun in the right, meaning female, company, but I wasn’t seeing any immediate application.

“Who’s the lucky lady you imagine me using this with?” We were basically monogamous, but we’d never ruled out the possibility of adventure if the right opportunity arose. Maybe this was Luke’s not-too-subtle way of saying he’d found what might be the right opportunity. “Or is it more flexible than it looks? I’ll try anything once.”

Luke smiled one of those smiles that always wiped out some of my fears while firing up a new crop, much more fun than the originals. I felt a stirring in my groin. “No, girl. You’ll be using it on me.”

Yay! Yay! Yay! Obsessed gets 4 stars from RT Book Reviews

I'm in with the bigtime authors in the must-read RT Book Reviews and they liked Obsessed! I'm so thrilled. They gave it 4 stars!

In the 20 novellas in this collection, obsession is the name of the game. The pages sizzle and the words smoke. Readers will love the variety and the intensity of assignations, ranging from a foreign city to a small cottage under a hurricane onslaught, with a varying mix of locales in between.

Two standouts include: “One Night,” by Kayla Perrin, in which a lonely assistant sets out to seduce her boss for one magical night in Paris. In “Storm Surge” by Teresa Noelle Roberts, two lovers find extra magic in the coming hurricane. (CLEIS, Aug., 248 pp., $14.95)

Dirty Sexy Books loves Orgasmic, calls it "a glorious experience"

Check out this amazing review of Orgasmic: Erotic Stories for Women from Dirty Sexy Books (do check them out for lots of other excellent reviews). Also remember that you can hear Velvet Moore read from the excellent chemistry sex story "Chemistry" on October 21st, live and free with free cupcakes, at In The Flesh Reading Series. From the review:

It’s Orgasmic indeed. Some of these stories sent me straight to the moon, and then I drifted back down to earth only to take off again on the next page. After I finished this book it occurred to me that I’ve never read anything that focuses so wholly on female satisfaction. I think men tend to steal the limelight since they express arousal and orgasm in such a visual fashion. Women know how to hide it and fake it like pros, and sometimes that works against us, because our bodies are not simple to decipher, and oh! the frustration when we desperately want someone to break our code and read us like a book. That happens in Orgasmic, and it’s a glorious experience.

“Chemistry” by Velvet Moore starts with the line, “The smell of science makes me horny.” After reading about what happens to a hospital administrator in a laboratory, I can certainly understand why. The heroine in “Seeing Stars” by Louisa Harte suffers on a camping trip until she learns that exposing herself in nature can draw forth her primitive side, and every soft breeze or cool drop of rain is a sensory explosion while making love under the stars. Another couple has stealth sex in a public place while watching a lunar eclipse in “Moon Tantra” by Teresa Noelle Roberts.

As hot as I found the outdoor action, I was just as tantalized when things moved inside. ”Making Shapes” by Lily Harlem portrayed a woman who is my kind of artisan, and she makes functional art based on molds of her client’s most intimate parts. Who ever heard of falling in love with a penis at first sight? Well, it happens here. ”Animal Inside” by Neve Black is a voyeur’s dream, with a hole in the wall and two strangers enjoying their separate, yet shared, experiences. In “The London O” by Justine Elyot, a woman teases her lover with tales of past escapades, only to have him top them all with the help of a special pair of knickers.

These were just some of my favorites from this Orgasmic collection. Ladies, enjoy yourselves.

Read my spanking erotica interview with Teresa Noelle Roberts

Hey, guess what? Amid the recent doom and gloom, there is some happy news. I have a new book (almost) out! It's supposedly being shipped to me right now, so should be in my hands this week, in bookstores next week, in time for July 17th's In The Flesh Reading Series and my July 19th presentation at TES about spanking erotica. Oh, and we're shooting the book trailer this Sunday, to (hopefully) debut mid-next week. I'm keeping busy and keeping my fingers crossed.

If you have read my work at all, you probably know that I am a big fan of the Q&A. I just can't seem to stop, and I have up the first contributor interview from Spanked: Red-Cheeked Erotica, which also has it's own probably NSFW (but should SO be savored at home or wherever) blog. It's from Teresa Noelle Roberts, who wrote what's pretty much my favorite story in the book and one of my favorite erotica stories ever. Seriously, that's huge. It's called "Daddy's Girl" and there's an excerpt below the interview.

Your story "Daddy's Girl" is one of my favorite spanking stories ever, mainly because I never would've thought I'd be into that kind of story, but you told it so well, getting into the roleplay but also stepping back out of the roleplay. Is this your first Daddy/girl story? Were there any special considerations when dealing with the subject matter?

Wow! Thank you so much, Rachel! That’s quite a compliment, especially coming from you.

I’d call this my first successful Daddy/girl story; I have one abortive attempt languishing in my files. I chose the Daddy/girl relationship because I like to try to understand other people’s kinks and erotic fascinations, and to challenge my own writing comfort zone. (I wrote a story for Rubber Sex for much the same reason and it was a great experience.) At the time I was writing the story, I’d gotten to know a few people online who enjoyed Daddy/girl roleplay or were in more or less full-time Daddy/girl relationships and I was endeavoring to get inside their emotional worlds a bit. I don’t want to claim any kind of universality for the motives in this story, by the way, but they work for these characters!

Daddy/girl, and ageplay in general, is tricky territory to write about because it can be uncomfortable for people who aren’t involved with it, can conjure up horrible thoughts of child abuse even though it’s between consenting non-related adults. The challenge of this story was keeping a little dangerous edge—the sense that they’re playing with taboos—while making it clear that we’re talking about two grown-ups in love enjoying an edgy, but tender game.
