Want knitting bondage erotica? Best Bondage Erotica 2015 has it!

Over on the book's Tumblr, I've been posting excerpts from Best Bondage Erotica 2015 in the order they appear in the book, and today I got to a personal favorite, knitting bondage erotica story "Trinity's New Hobby" by Lucy Felthouse. This is my fifth year editing the Best Bondage Erotica series, so as you can imagine, I've read hundreds of bondage stories, and while I love the topic, sometimes even when you do what you love, it can feel monotonous. Then I'll get a story like this one and it will blow me away with its fun tone, creativity and use of a new implement I had never considered before. That, in addition to publishing authors new to the genre, is my editorial pride and joy.

I hope you'll check out the excerpts and the book!

Should erotica writers include safer sex in their fiction?

That's the question I pose at Salon, where their subtitle is "Erotica authors don't degree on safe sex demands. I answer by way of opinions from blogger Reading with Analysis, Angie Lynch of review site Shameless Book Club, as well as erotica and erotic romance authors KD Grace, Tamsin Flowers, Tiffany Reisz, Lucy Felthouse, Nicola James, Remittance Girl and Solace Ames. Thank you to everyone who responded to me for this article, those I could include and those I couldn't, and as always, feel free to pitch me on article and column topics at rachelkb at gmail.com - I've got lots more on the way this month!

Happy kinky New Year: Best Bondage Erotica 2014 is out now, and more sexy reading

photo.JPG
I'm so vain I started the new year with a new book selfie (actually more excited about this gorgeous kinky book)

What a way to start the new year: Best Bondage Erotica 2014, the 4th in my annual series for Cleis Press, just came out and I'm so thrilled with how beautiful the cover is and how hot the stories are. I'm also reading submissions for Best Bondage Erotica 2015 (deadline is March 1st, so get writing!). This one is especially exciting because I'm publishing many of these esteemed authors for the first time, including ones like Annabel Joseph, who already have readers clamoring for their next sexy book. Here's what reviewers are saying:

The Frisky Fairy has excerpts from "Roping the Cowboy" by Teresa Noelle Roberts, "Tart Cherry" by Kathleen Delaney-Adams and "The Neckcloth" by Annabel Joseph, and wrote:
There are not enough words in the English language to tell you how much I loved this book. I was able to find new and exciting stories that turned me on, and that is a rarity. The language and content were able to thrill me on multiple levels, and I really feel that this book has enough content for everyone that it would be hard to be disappointed. I was incredibly impressed with the diversity across the pages, as I feel there is not enough diversity in erotica and many erotic anthologies. There was diversity in body types, relationship types, gender roles, sex, gender, and gender presentation. The bondage itself ranged from beginner to advanced, but the stories still displayed the same feeling of intimacy in all the various types of relationships.
We Love Kink gave it 5 love taps and wrote in part:
I did not realize just how many ways there were to tie some up up. There were your basic ropes in Rope Dance a circus themed story, a funky use for a necktie in Neckcloth, some interesting usage of paper clips in Clipped, a leather chastity belt in Belted In, some very very different ways to use a simple shoelace in Pegged, ribbons in Wearing Purple and also the invisible usage of bondage in Mind Fuck.

There were plenty of toys, dildos in all shapes and sizes, spanking brushes, whips, floggers, birches, handcuffs, ropes and an innovative device that Anna is strapped down on from her arms to her legs. I loved the way that so many toys were talked about. It was new, fresh and completely different story after story. Sure there were similar themes, bondage being it, of course but the way it was achieved was always very different. In Mind Fuck, Cari has a muscle disease so she could only pretend to be tied down. And let me tell you Quinton did a great job of talking her through it. He was hot stuff.

Free Cheeky Spanking Stories excerpt from "The Perfect Dom" by Lucy Felthouse

My fifth book of spanking erotica, Cheeky Spanking Stories (click to read the introduction and table of contents), is out now! The Kindle and Nook ebook versions will be out October 16th and I'll be posting excerpts from every day here. Here's a free excerpt from the opening story, "The Perfect Dom," about a very suggestive pair of panties. If you like it, please check out the entire book and click "like" on Amazon (it does help, and the better this book does, the more spanking books I'll be given the privilege of editing in the future and, trust me, I hope there are many, many more, it's my favorite topic to write and edit erotica about).

From "The Perfect Dom" by Lucy Felthouse:
Spank me. Is that an invitation?”

Shit. Mia had completely forgotten about him. Her flatmate, Katy, had asked if it was okay if her brother stayed on their sofa for a couple of nights. His own place was being fitted with a new bathroom and conditions over there weren’t exactly hygienic. Mia had been rushing around in order to get to work and hadn’t really been paying attention, so she’d just agreed and then promptly forgotten.

Now, however, she was being treated to a huge and incredibly embarrassing reminder. Katy was on a night shift at the hospital so when Mia had woken up at nine in the evening—her own body clock being on that of working in the club, though tonight was her night off—she’d deemed it safe to wander to the kitchen to get a drink in what she was wearing. Big mistake. Alex was sitting on the sofa, an eyebrow quirked and a leering grin on his face. He held his iPad, and earphones hung around his neck. He’d obviously been watching a film or playing some ridiculous game before Mia had flipped the light on and sauntered through the living room in nothing but a skimpy vest and hot pants. The hot pants were, of course, what he was referring to. The fuchsia garment had SPANK ME emblazoned across the ass in large black lettering.

Mia gave Alex a look that would have turned a lesser man to stone. He, however, simply grinned even more widely, then said, “Well? Do you need a firm hand to that luscious butt of yours? Like a spanking, do you?”

Mia sighed. “Shut up, Alex. It’s none of your business. I’m just getting a drink. Get back to your damn gadget and leave me alone.”

“Oooh, someone’s defensive. I’m just saying, you must have those on for a reason. A statement like that printed on your backside would definitely be construed as an invitation in my book.”

“Well, maybe it is an invitation, Alex. But it’s certainly not directed at you. Now if you’d kindly stop passing judgment on my nonexistent sex life I’ll get my drink and get out of your way.”

Without giving him a chance to reply, Mia flounced off into the kitchen and made herself a drink. As she stood at the sink, Alex’s voice came from right behind her, startling her and making her drop the glass. Luckily, it fell a mere couple of inches into the sink, but it didn’t stop Mia turning furiously to Alex to give him a piece of her mind.

“What?” Alex said, his hands spread wide in supplication as he received yet another cool stare. “All I said was that if the invitation was directed at me, I’d definitely take you up on it. And I’d do it right, too.”

Sh! recaps

Me being me, my last day is super hectic, but I've had a brilliant time and definitely want to come back for all the places/people I've missed seeing. I spent last night in bed with lovely supermarket foodstuffs watching and being inspired by Working Girl and reading a book I'm writing about after so much running around and didn't feel guilty about not being out and about in the least. I could use less guilt, more me. Trying trying trying...2011 is all about overhauling my life, or if it's not, it should be. Reluctant to go home just yet but hoping I'll be back while I still somewhat know my way around London a bit more, having taken the Tube lots, plus the overground and the train out to Hitchin.

Thanks to everyone who showed up at Sh! and made the evening so wonderful and did recaps! Who needs MSM anyway? (I say jokingly, but of course, cause I'm a media whore and always will be. But in this case, I was so moved by the people who came out and what they said about my work. When I visited England in 2002 for my friend's wedding, I never ever could've predicted books with my name on the spine would be on shelves. Next stop, Waterstone's, who are big on YA. A girl can has to dream.)
