Dooce's memoir title

It Sucked and Then I Cried: How I Had a Baby, a Breakdown, and a Much Needed Margarita by Heather B. Armstrong of Dooce (and yesterday's New York Times) fame comes out March 24, 2009 from Simon Spotlight Entertainment.

She mentioned it on her blog:

However. I have another enormous deadline looming over me right now, the one where I'm supposed to turn in the final pages of my manuscript to my editor (hi, Patrick!) at Simon and Schuster. It's sort of a memoir about my pregnancy and postpartum experience with Leta, and it's only one paragraph long. It goes: "It sucked and then I cried. The end." My editor thinks I should elaborate a little bit. He's so picky.

Sex and Bacon - Best. Book. Title. Ever.

photo from Peace Through Pork (yes, I'm Jewish, but clearly not kosher, though I hardly ever actually eat bacon)

I was looking up another book that Seal Press’s Brooke Warner edited when I found this forthcoming title by Indecent author Sarah Katherine Lewis: Sex and Bacon: Why I Love Things That Are Very Very Bad For Me, describes as “musings on good food and good sex.” Love it!

And clearly there’s a market for it with the bacon blogs like Bacontarian and Six Degrees of Bacon.

Yesterday, I was one of the last to find out about the cease and desist letter the Pork Board sent to the blogger The Lactivist over a t-shirt that said “the other white milk.” Even Six Degrees of Bacon was on the side of the boobies.

We even once ran a bacon and egg photo at Cupcakes Take the Cake (via SFist):

Finally, a card to send to your bacon loving friends from the fabulous Two Piglets:
