that moment when the food overcomes you, taking your senses to new
heights as you prepare for the next bite. When your mind is consumed by
flavors, textures and colors -- and the world disappears for a minute.

I've conspired with Chef Daniel Wolinsky at the Roger Smith Hotel to
design just that kind of moment for you. A whole series of them, in
fact. This Valentine's Day, I hope you'll join us for a very
evening, whether by yourself, as a couple, or
with friends.

How does this event work?

This very special cocktail and tasting party comprises passed

hors d'oeuvres and a 5-course tasting

of small plates that will push your palate to the limit with sultry
flavors, citrusy surprises, spicy crunch and heavenly honeyed nuances.
We'll spend the evening exploring the sensual pleasures of these
flavors along with wine and signature cocktails, each element designed
to envelop your senses. While much of the evening will bring you
mouth-to-mouth with the unexpected, here's some of what you can look
forward to:

6:30 - 7:00 PM Passed hors d'oeuvres and signature cocktails

7:00 - 10:00 PM Small plates and open bar

Throughout the evening, special guest Yolanda Shoshana, the Luscious
Lifestyle Diva, will be sharing some of her delicious expertise. I'll
also be available with some special guests to share more about the
connection between food and sensuality.


Passed hors d'oeuvres:

  • Avocado mousse with pickled ginger and orange zest on spicy tortilla crisps

  • Truffled oyster soup

  • Cardamom-dusted grilled lamb chops

Small plates:

  • Endive leaves filled with Roger Smith bacon, St. AndrĂ© cheese, hazelnuts, fig jelly and honey vinaigrette

  • Light-as-a-feather saffron gnocchi with crispy artichokes and rosemary

  • Tender beef slices with celery root puree, garlic confit foam and a spiced port reduction

  • Selection of artisan cheeses

  • Cognac-poached pears with honey lavender cream - paired with Riazul Anejo Tequila

Wine and cocktails - Featuring Hahn SLH Estate Syrah Santa Lucia Highlands 2007 and Riazul Anejo Tequila
