June!

June is almost here, thank goodness. I'm just passing along the info about these events, for more info, visit the URLs or use Google, though I totally endorse them. I'm just going to update this post as opposed to new posts all the time so if you have cool stuff going on, let me know and I'll see what I can do (but be extra patient as I'm barely reading email these days). I suck and will likely always suck with calendars so this is a reminder for me too.

June 7, 7 pm, Luna Lounge, Murray Hill's 7th Annual Miss Lez Pagaent

MURRAY HILL, "nightlife impresario" and "reigning patriarch of downtown performance" (NY TIMES) is proud, damn proud, to present and host THE 7TH ANNUAL MISS LEZ PAGEANT. THE MISS LEZ PAGEANT is a wildly provocative, insane, jaw-dropping beauty pageant for gay women in NYC that blows the lid off of "gender representation". The infamous pageant itself is highly competitive, loads of fun, gangbusters, and occasionally meaningless with a touch of high camp. Seven contestants compete in categories PLATFORM, SWIMSUIT, EVENING GOWN, INTERVIEW, and TALENT for "the title", cash, and drink tickets. The winner is decided by a panel of CELEBRITY JUDGES. There will be a headlining musical act, and DJ's to keep the party going post-pageant.

June 10, 3-7, Loving Day Celebration supporting the 40th (!) anniversary of Loving v. Virginia, which legalized interracial marriages, with free BBQ, beer, and Ben & Jerry’s

June 12 – I Love Female Orgasm reading
