A college sex column is causing controversy: The President of the University of Southern Mississippi is upset about a new sex column called Pillow Talk in the Student Printz. The first column by Glory Fink is called "College is a time to experiment" and is about sex and food, while the second one is called "Keep sex safe" and is about finding the right condom.

Thames' dilemma - if the university considers a student-run publication a dilemma - is how to get his point across without intruding on the First Amendment rights of the students to publish their views. By their very nature, campus publications are more laboratories of journalistic and artistic expression than they are representative journals of the official college viewpoint. But they are an integral and essential element in both the academic and social component of university life. And they are perfect examples of free speech and the value and strength of the First Amendment.
