Before the Mortgage

I missed the reading for Christina Amini and Rachel Hutton's anthology Before the Mortgage: Real Stories of Brazen Loves, Broken Leases, and the Perplexing Pursuit of Adulthood but I did make it to Von last night for the afterparty. Both editors were totally awesome, energetic, and fun - we talked books and cupcakes, and I got to meet the very lovely Anna Chlumsky (yes, she of My Girl fame). The book is quirky, entertaining, and relatable for anyone in their 20s and 30s certainly, probably even beyond. And Barbara Rushkoff's tale of working at People I mean Persons magazine, and having to deliver pot for her boss via interoffice mail - priceless, just priceless.

And yes, of course, Before the Mortgage is on MySpace.
