Instant blogratification by Danielle Trussoni
From Falling Through The Earth author Danielle Trussoni's blog:
One of the strangest things about blogging (from a writer's point of view) is that style means nada in a blog. You sit down, you put your fingers to the keyboard, and you type, type, type.
What comes out is (perhaps) more authentic than if you had labored for hours over a few sentences. What comes out is quick and easily rendered. It is 'real' and 'heartfelt' and ready to be broadcast.
Blogging is not really art (nor was it meant to be), but an act of mental transference, transcribing thought "instantly" onto the page, a kind of splatter painting of thoughts on the screen. Blogging is such a perfect encapsulation of our quick-fix culture. It is us. Now. Here. Without makeup. Ready to be consumed.
