If there's one thing in this world I love, it's greeting cards. They might rival books as the item I'm most likely to always be ready to shop for. This is my basic Overbust Corset with a magenta silk dupioni exterior.
~beaded fringe trim in warm orange and purple beads
~organza ruffle across the top
~durable top-stitching plus GOLD METALLIC top-stitching
~The corset is self-bound with hand-made bias binding, not storebought binding.

The silk dupioni is excellent for more hand-stitching, embroidery, beading, or any embellishments you may apply, like blinging it out with Swarzovski crystals for your burlesque costume. The silk is durable enough for home steam, steam ironing, and spot stain removal.

I have been making corsets for 10 years. All of my corsets are made with real corset materials and hardware: All steel boning, a busc at center front, cotton coutil as the interior fabric and proper 2- piece grommets up the back for lacing.

The front is 14 inches long, so it ends in a devilish point in the front, yet it's cut higher over the hips so it blends smoothly with your skirts. This Overbust corset does wonders for your waist and you can treat it as a true foundation garment.

Junk Drawers recycled men's underwear, at Shag and Etsy

I discovered Junk Drawers Underwear last week at Williamsburg, Brooklyn shop Shag (where tomorrow 2-4 pm I teach my last NYC erotica class of 2010, there's still room!), and was immediately drawn to the colors and fabrics and design. Then I found out they're made from recycled material, and immediately had to buy a pair for my boyfriend! Check them out at Shag or their Etsy shop. Turns out they're based in one of my favorite cities, Minneapolis!



From their Etsy page:

Junk Drawers Underwear are repurposed and recycled garments made from new scrap materials left over from commercial cuts and remnant scraps discarded by the apparel manufacturing industry. We take this fabric from its certain death in a landfill and make clothes out of it. We also like to use cherished, precious, one-of-a-kind pieces of vintage fabrics and scarves.

Due to the inconsistency of fabric, each pair is unique in color and pattern but equally comfortable and fun! We make these from our home and work place and have been doing so since our business started.

I discovered Citybitz at the Brooklyn Flea in Dumbo on Saturday. I'd gone there seeking out Kumquat Cupcakery mini cupcakes but got there too late and she was sold out. So I bought this necklace, dangly earrings, and a Brooklyn Bridge business card holder.

There were lots of other pieces of photo jewelry, all with a New York theme, I either wanted or want to get as gifts, especially a Brooklyn Bridge mirror (here's a link but it looked much more gorgeous in person). She's also selling her products on Etsy. Highly recommended.

I got these super cute do not disturb signs from Etsy (via Mom Logic) to give away to promote my book
Do Not Disturb: Hotel Sex Stories, which is out March 1st (the book trailer shoots next weekend and will debut around Valentine's Day!). Plus I'll be reading from it as will Tess Danesi on March 19th at In The Flesh.





And then I found these cards by searching "mile high club" - the first is a set of 12 that I bought, cause one says "Let's join the mile high club." Not sure who I'll send that one to...but since I also have The Mile High Club: Plane Sex Stories coming out April 1st, I wanted to plug that too!
