It's June, Gay Pride month, and R. Gay's first anthology Girl Crush: Women's Erotic Fantasies is out now. I haven't read the whole thing but did reread part of my story, "Great Lengths," which opens the book, and marveled at the power of a true crush, the way it can push you to do crazy things and still linger in your mind years later, maybe because of the gap between desire and reality. I also loved Gina de Vries's story "Girl Crazy," about a punk rock zinester crush. I also liked that bisexuality is very much a valid identity in this book, and a range of queerness is presented.
