Marion's kicks Sushi Samba's ass

So I was trying to make a reservation for 12 at Sushi Samba. I've been there 2 or 3 times and found the food yummy and spicy and the drinks strong and sweet. But...for a group of 12, the minimum I'd have to pay would be $60/person...for a tasting menu! WTF? Am I crazy to think that I'm being punished for bringing a large group? This is my "help me celebrate my book deal and I love you cause you're an awesome friend" dinner, with some of my favorite people in the world.

So, thanks to an awesome tip from GirlyNYC, we are now going to the fabulous Marion's. They're up for sale but I still suggest signing up for their newsletter. Over the years they've had burlesque, fashion shows, and 1950's prices (that's once a year). I called and found out Monday nights are "date night" where the food is half off! I love that they do that. They had a big election night special too where I hung out in 2004 until I couldn't take it any more. Plus they were super nice on the phone, and that goes a long way with me. So I recommend Marion's, from now until however long they're open. I'm sure at least three bloggers will have cameras to document our food and drink consumption.
